Right now you need the space to think. In continual change it’s easy to become ungrounded, distracted and unsure of the way forward. You have a lot of moving parts to deal with. Some people are in the office, others are out of the office. Roles and power dynamics are shifting, and the future is unknown. Differing genders, cultures, and ages present diverse needs. Relationships are under strain and the psychological contract between organisation and employees is being re-negotiated. Some people are leaving. Others are biding their time, waiting for the opportune time to go. Leading a team or an organisation has never been more testing.

At best these challenges are making things complicated for you as a leader, and your organisation. At worst targets and financial performance are suffering, and you feel like you’re on the edge, unsupported by your team, and unsure how much longer you can go on. Some days you too might be thinking, ‘I want to do something else. I have a vision and I can’t focus on it here because of all these issues going on around me. Other days you want to make it work and be part of a great organisation. 

On top of this, business decisions are almost impossible to make with any degree of certainty. There are more of them and you are being forced to make them faster amidst many unknowns and moving variables. The way forward is rarely clear, but you still feel the pressure to get it right in the eyes of your stakeholders. If you don’t make the right choices, say no (or yes) at the crucial moment, choose the right people, identify the key priorities, make the wise investment, then performance suffers. Often, it’s hard to know what to do and the best direction to go in. Still, the expectation remains that you’ll be decisive, take swift action and drive results.

With the world of work that you grew up in gone, and a barrage of new thinking and jargon to contend with from academics and consultants who don’t know your context, it’s easy to lose confidence and let self-doubt creep in. But you can’t show it because if people see you’re afraid, you’ll lose credibility and authority. Leadership can be lonely. You’re supposed to have all the answers and others look to you for support. But what about you? Who’s got your back?

One of the challenges of holding a position of seniority in an organisation or in your own business, is finding people to talk to who you can trust and who can relate to your experience. In the past, at various points, you may have sought out professional coaches or therapists, but sessions fizzled out because demands on your time made regular meetings difficult. You might have turned to leadership books and podcasts for insight but found they didn’t really match your situation and were too general to be of value. You may have thrown yourself into health regimes as a way of supporting your mind and body, but these haven’t addressed the deeper questions.

All this has left you in the uncomfortable position of feeling like there’s no place where you can voice what’s going on for you, get steady and clear in your thinking, and make purposeful choices.

The Stability Effect VIP Day


In the VIP Day, we work together to generate insight, movement, and next steps in your business, leadership, and life. This day is powerful, and enjoyable! You’ll be guided to think through questions like:

  • What do I truly stand for?
  • What’s really happening in my business, team, leadership, life?
  • What’s getting in the way of me making new choices and taking action, and importantly how do I move beyond these things?
  • Am I going to do X or Y? (if you have a big decision to make)

Then, with my input, you can start to form a high-level plan for the key area you want to address. I know that carving out one day together is not going to be easy for you to do because you’re busy, but as much as possible we’re going to get offline, so that you have the headspace to think about things in a way that allows you to identify clear priorities for the way forward.

The Stability Effect VIP is a space where you can be you, gain fresh perspective, explore possibilities, get aligned, make a decision, choose a direction, and know, at least at a high level, what you need to do to move forward. You’ll leave the day with a list of specific actions, and schedule at least one in your diary.

About Me

A former chartered accountant and mergers & acquisitions advisor at KPMG, I know the pressures of the business world, and the challenges of staying steady, making wise decisions and thriving. Retraining as a coach in 2002 was a turning point, and paved the way for me to found my own business and do what I love. I now specialise in helping busy leaders and entrepreurs bring stability and insight into their choices and actions.  

I’ve worked in a wide range of industry sectors, including Accenture, Barclays, Civil Service, Grant Thornton, GSK, Harrods, JP Morgan, Norton Rose Fulbright and O2, facilitating 1000s of change and leadership masterclasses, and coaching 100s of leaders privately, or through their organisations.

To serve my clients with the presence, skills, and tools needed for transformation, I’ve invested more than 20 years, and 10s of 1000s of pounds in continuing professional and personal development. I’ve written many published articles about change, leadership, and flourishing, and spoken at several professional networking events. My first published book The Stability Effect was released in January 2024.

If you’re thinking this, consider what’s going to happen over time if nothing changes for you? If you continue as you are, where will you be in 6 months, a year, five years? What will the impact of this be on you, your clients/team/business, your loved ones, the world at large? What I’d encourage you to do is compare the investment to the difference it could make to your fulfilment, your health, your wellbeing, your relationships, your career, whatever it is that you are most keen to work on. What is that difference worth to you? You might spend £2,000 on a holiday, and while that’s really important, sometimes we are more reluctant to spend £2,000 on our own development and quality of life, and on something that can make a shift not just in the short term but quite possibly for many years to come. Making a profound decision about your work, your business or your life, can have a knock on impact for five to ten years or more.
